I cannot rely on three full seasons at United - Ruben Amorim
United's manager - here being consoled post May's continental cup disappointment - notes he is satisfied by the investor's long-term backing but stressed that the future is unpredictable in football.
Manchester United head coach Amorim believes it's crucial Sir Jim Ratcliffe went public with his future vision - but states nothing is guaranteed about the future in the sport, never mind three seasons.
During a discussion with a major publication in recent days, Ratcliffe said it could take Amorim a three-year period to produce meaningful results at the Theatre of Dreams.
Coming in a period when the coach's tenure has been receiving close inspection following an extended sequence of poor performances, the statements assisted in calming some of the immediate pressure.
Yet, discussing prior to the hundredth encounter with historic adversaries the Reds at their home ground, Amorim underscored that what comes next is challenging to anticipate in soccer.
"It's truly positive to receive that message but he tells me constantly, occasionally through communication post fixtures - but recognize, I'm aware and Jim knows, that football is not like that," he said.
"The crucial element is the following fixture. Regardless of investors, you cannot manage tomorrow in soccer."
Chief executive the club executive has conceded it has required significantly extended periods for the manager to adjust to the top division after his transfer from Sporting last November than anyone imagined.
United have won 10 victories in 34 Premier League matches with the Portuguese coach. They are yet to win two league games in a row and didn't complete a matchday this season better than ninth place.
The dire statistics are stretching belief in the manager among the Old Trafford faithful entering a run of games the side has performed poorly in for the past two seasons.
United's boss commented he isn't experiencing the uncertainty within the organization at the team's practice complex and is firm nothing can match the stress he applies to his players - and in certain ways, he would prefer Ratcliffe to refrain from seeking to create tranquility because he is concerned about the influence it may create on the team.
"It isn't merely something people discuss, I sense it every day," he remarked. "It's truly positive to hear it because it assists our supporters to comprehend the leadership know it is going to take some time.
"Yet concurrently, I'm not fond of it because it generates a sense that we possess time to resolve issues. I don't wish for that impression in our club.
"The pressure I put on the squad or upon myself is significantly greater [versus outside influences]. In the sport, especially in big clubs, you have to show your value every weekend."
